SOJO Marathon 2010!

Image
I felt like crap!    This didn't even feel good.  I did the SOJO marathon in September and it was very hard and only because it was too darn hot and it had quite a bit of incline.  We didn't start the race until 8:30 and the highs of the day were in the 90's, so that makes for a very hot run.  I definitely was not my best by any means.  I was in third place for the women up until about mile 20 and then I was just not feeling good anymore.  In fact, I tore my meniscus again while doing it and got heat stroke.  I could barely walk when I finished.  Josh literally was carrying me to my car.  I also was so dehydrated, I felt like I was going to pass out.  This was definitely one of my hardest runs I have ever done.  One of the physical therapists saw me sitting for so long, that she took me over to the massage tables immediately and started working on me.  It was all I could do to not cry, it hurt so bad...

Red Rock Relay!

My VAN.  We rock.  Josh out volunteering from 2:00 -6:00 a.m.  Our team.  My support team.  Battle wounds. I am so behind on my posts, but here is the Red Rock Relay I did.  Our team was awesome.  We were called Ain't No Rest For the Wicked and were even short one person in our van which meant I had to do 2 legs in a row.  It was over 12 miles in the heat and up some very steep hills, but I was happy to do it.  On the second run, at 2:00 a.m .in the morning I got to run into my exchange and see Josh.  He was volunteer and loved it even if it was in the middle of the night.  Our team did great being that there were 180 teams and we came in 26th.  I am so happy I did it and I would love to do another one.  Thanks Tami for all your hard work in getting our team together and organized.

Nana, We Will MISS you!

NANA My sweet grandma passed away at 93.  She was a huge part of my life.  In fact, I think I saw my grandma every single week of my life until I got married.  She was always there for me and our family.  I have so many memories of my grandma and so many things I will always remember.  I was lucky enough to speak at her funeral, something of which I hate to do, but I am so grateful I did because it helped me remember so many things about her.  She was definitely one the sweetest people you could ever meet and never had a bad thing to say.  She was 99.9% optimistic and I hope to be as much like her as I can.  She is truly my idol.  She was my grandma, my friend, my singing teacher, my listener, and most of all someone I will hold close to my heart forever.  She lived such a wonderful and full life and I am sure couldn't be happier to be back his her husband of which died over 30 years ago.  I could on and on about her, bu...
